Two Powerful Truths About the Love of God That Forever Changed My Life

Daughter, do you know how deeply you are loved by God?
A few years ago, God told me to build my life on His love. A man from my church had spoken
that word to me prophetically, because God knew I would need to cling to it in the times ahead.
And that word has seen me through some of the toughest seasons of my life.
In seasons of mental and emotional turmoil, when the enemy launched attack after attack on my mind, and I couldn't feel God near, I often clung to that word of encouragement.
During those hard times, I had to learn to build my life on His love by encouraging myself with
what God promised in His Word. Every thought I entertained and every action I took, was
filtered through the love of God. And in this process, I learned two truths that forever changed
the way I saw God.

1. God’s love for me is not based on my performance as a believer.
God’s love never fails, and it's not based on what I can and cannot do for Him. God doesn't love me less when I fail, and He doesn't love me more when I get it right. His love for me is
unconditional. Thank you, Lord.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
-1 Corinthians 13:4-7
My failures do not keep me distant from God, it’s when I believe that my failures change the way God sees me, that I subconsciously place a barrier between me and God. Never forget that the battle is in the mind. It’s what you believe about God that strengthens or
saps your faith.
That's why the Bible says God's truth sets us free.
When we know and believe that we are already forgiven, it frees us up to love God, love others, and forgive ourselves.
Why?
Because God first loved us.

2. God’s love for me is not based on how I’m feeling at any particular moment.
Daughter, if you can grasp this truth and let it sink down deep in your heart: You’ll learn to live
free.
Free from giving in to feelings of condemnation, and believing the lies of the enemy. Free from thinking that you’ve missed the mark and God is disappointed in you.
Remember, God took His wrath out on Jesus, who bore our sin and shame. When Jesus went
to the cross, He endured the shame because of His incredible love for us.
Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten
by God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
-Isaiah 53:4-6
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you
belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
-Romans 8:1-2
So there’s no more condemnation left for you. Let that encourage your heart today. Jesus took it all on the cross. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
-John 3:17
God loves you.
When you build your life on His love, you're learning to live free from performance, guilt,
condemnation, and shame. And you’re learning to walk in the freedom that Jesus paid so
dearly for.
I love you, sis, you be blessed and encouraged. And learn to build your life on His love.
