Kingdom Fitness: Embracing Health with Purpose and Passion!

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

1 Corinthians 10:31 NLT

My strong why for health and fitness is exactly this verse! It’s all for the glory of God! I want to play in the Kingdom football field, not just be a fan in the stands cheering. I want to be in the game—fully in! I want to put in the work so I can live out my Kingdom purpose. When Coach Jesus says, "Jessica, I want you to minister to a broken girl in France," I want to be obedient. I don’t want my health to stop me from reaching that broken girl. I’m all in!

I always invite Jesus into whatever nutrition or fitness program I’m doing. It might sound silly to some, but He knows my body more than I do! I’ve shared in previous blogs that the month of May was hard for me. I was stressed and didn’t handle it well. There was a week where I didn’t work out at all, I was eating too much chocolate, and drinking way too many lattes! When my fitness and nutrition crash like that, I know something is seriously wrong.

While the rest of the world was celebrating summer approaching, God was calling me too fast. He led me on a three-day fast of just eating fruits and vegetables. Then, He guided me on a gut health journey that I'm currently on. I wasn’t too excited about it because it meant giving up what seemed to be a lot—aka all the coffee. It also meant low-impact workouts and stepping out of my comfort zone to explore new recipes.

Before I started my gut health journey, I prayed and gave it all to God. I knew I couldn’t do it without Him. He’s really empowered me and strengthened me through this journey.

I’m currently walking into week three of my gut health journey, and so far:

- I feel a million times better inside.

- My stress is gone.

- I’ve lost the weight I gained in May.

- My skin is slowly starting to clear up.

- I’m drinking more water.

- I’ve learned to make some new yummy recipes.

- My joints feel better.

He knew that my body needed to rest, so He brought this journey into my life to fuel my body and not max out my muscles. I want to encourage you to invite Jesus into your health and fitness journey, and to go all in.

I really love this, I think a lot of the times that we can be so caught up in everyday life and even trying to strengthen our spiritual walk with Jesus, which is important, that we sometime forget about the physical and how important it is to do everything we can to treat our temples right! 💖 - Sade Scott
