Happy 2021!!!! I hope you all have a great year filled with an abundance of blessings!!!!
So since it is January and I know many people have health and fitness goals, I thought I would give out some tips on how to stay consistent! Plus one of my favorite easy healthy recipes!
Before I get into the tips and yummy recipe, I want to let you know you are beautiful! Work from the inside out! Health and fitness is more than lifting heavy weights, eating salads all day, and trying to fit into that little black dress! It's GRITTY!
GRIT
G - Greatness
R - Requires
I - Internal
T - Toughness
It's mental! It will require GRIT on your part! Build yourself up in God's Word and surround yourself with positive people who support this NEW version of yourself you're trying to become!
Fitness Tips!
1.) Get a vision of how you want to look! Maybe go to Pinterest and pick out a picture of a body you desire to have! Go to the next level and put a picture of your head on that body! Some might think this is crazy! You need a vision of where you are going! Post that picture where you can see it everyday!
"Where there is NO VISION the people PERISH" Proverbs 29:18
2.) Write a goal! Start with a little goal, don't overwhelm yourself! Honestly, I would start with a nutrition goal because 80% of your results come from nutrition. Maybe if you are wanting to eliminate soda and let's say you drink 2 dr. peppers a day. Narrow it down to 1 a day. The next week every other day. The next week 2 a week. etcetera. Start small!
"And the Lord your God will clear out those nations before you, LITTLE BY LITTLE; you may not consume them quickly, lest the beasts of the field increase among you." Deuteronomy 7:22
3.) Start speaking as if it has already happened! Write out 3 positive declaration statements such as...
I feel good in my clothes
I am happy with my body
I am free in my relationship with food
Proverbs 23:7 says as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Whatever you think about you bring about!
If you say and think I feel sluggish and gross all the time. Then that's how you are going to feel! Speak the opposite of how you feel! This will help rewire your brain!
Proverbs 18:21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue.
3.) Back your positive declarations up with Bible Verses...
SAY
I am happy with my body
My body is the home of the Holy Spirit that God gave me, and He lives within me. It is a gift from God. He bought me with a great price, so I use my body to honor God.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
4.) Schedule time for your health and fitness goals. Try and keep it at the same time every day so it will become a routine. Pick a time that works BEST FOR YOU and get after it!
5.) Layout your fitness clothes the night before so you see them when you wake up. Out of sight out of mind. This goes back to #1 having a vision.
Lastly! Just get after it! Get gritty tap into an emotion, let it out! Don't give up! Girl you got this, you have a Kingdom purpose so take care of yourself so you can fulfill it!
I also want to throw this out there, some people might mock you and try and pull you down. Keep your head up and keep pressing forward. My favorite phrase to say when people make fun of the way I eat is YOU DO YOU AND I'LL DO ME! That usually ends it! Some people are not going to understand why your doing this and that's ok! You just do you and let them do them!

Banana Mug Cake
(I made this every Saturday night in December while watching the NEW Hallmark Christmas movies! I hope you enjoy it as much as I!)
Microwave Safe Coffee Mug
1 Large Banana
1 Egg
3 Tbsp. almond flour
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2tsp. semisweet chocolate chips or chopped walnuts
1 tsp peanut butter (optional)
Mash the banana in the mug with a fork. Add egg lightly beat with fork. Add almond flour, cinnamon, chocolate chips or walnuts, peanut butter, and mix well.
Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes and ENJOY!
