How To Shift From Discouraged To Encourage!

Have you been feeling discouraged lately? If you have, you are not alone. I have too, but I'm choosing to shift through it the Shift Worthy way!

How to shift from discouraged to encourage!

1.) Take ownership of your discouragement! Admit that you are discouraged and stop overlooking it. Sometimes we get so used to something that we keep putting band-aids on when we should take it off and let the wound heal. Take off the band-aid and expose that discouragement. Tap into that emotion.

2.) Invite God into your discouragement! Sister, put your hands up in the air and say, God, I can't do this on my own! I surrender, take over my discouragement and shift me to be encouraged!

When you get to this step of inviting God into your situation, you're allowing Him to mold you into the GREATEST version of yourself. This part isn't always easy. If you don't know why you are, feeling discouraged God will expose why. He might ask you to give up certain things, people or, he might tell you to do something uncomfortable. Everyone's shift is different! Let God take over and get comfortable being uncomfortable. I promise it's worth it!

3.) Get alone with Jesus, pray, spend time with him and, journal your thoughts and whatever you feel in your spirit. Most important, leave room to be still, quiet yourself so you can leave room for God to speak into your discouragement.

I think Ecclesiastes 5:1-2 is a perfect example of this.

"Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Better to approach in obedience than to offer the sacrifice as fools do, for they ignorantly do wrong. Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God. God is in heaven and, you are on earth, so let your words be few."

Ecclesiastes 5:1-2

I know it's not always easy but, you took off the band-aid and, this is a healing process. Find the time so God can mold you into encouragement!

4.) Be obedient to whatever God has told you to do. I promise you it will all work out for your good!

"We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

"Sometimes God rescues us from things. Sometimes he rescues us out of things. And sometimes he changes us in things. Let him choose. He knows best." Tony Evans

5.) If you are still feeling discouraged, seek Godly advice from a friend, relative, church small group, or pastor. They might be able to confirm something God has told you. Always run to God first.

Praying for you beautiful girl! Let's turn this discouragement over to encouragement! List out 3 things right now that encourage you! Keep pressing forward! You are on your way to the top of the mountain!

Remember Joshua 1:9

"Haven't I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

God is with you in this shift of turning discouragement into encouragement!

Lastly, the wound of discouragement might not be your fault but, it is your responsibility to take ownership and give it to God!

Love your Kingdom Sister,

Jessica
